Recently I’ve found a way to make a homemade dairy free milk that only takes 5 minutes to make! If you’ve ever tried to make milk yourself at home using almonds, rice, oat bran, or even oatmeal, you know that it does take time out of your busy schedule. Not so with this Oatmeal Milk! Another plus about this recipe is that, because it is not cooked, it does not have a “slimy” texture to it. It tastes great with cereal!
Makes 1 quart (Most of the time I just make half this recipe, then make a new batch every 3 days)
- In Blender, add 4 cups water and 1/4 cup organic oatmeal (can be quick-cooking or rolled).
- Blend on high for 2 minutes.
- Strain using a cheesecloth inside a small wire strainer.
- Pour into 1 quart container.
